Available SEND tools
Pencil includes six SEND-specific tools: Content Simplification, Guided Instructions, Flash Cards Generator, Clear Communicator, Sensory Activities, and Individual Behaviour Plan.
Content Simplification
Paste any text and specify the target reading level. Pencil will rewrite it with simpler vocabulary and shorter sentences while preserving the curriculum content.
IEP Generator
Provide the student context (without using their name - use a description instead) and their areas of need. Pencil generates a plan with SMART targets aligned to the relevant curriculum stage.
A note on student data
Do not enter personally identifiable student information. Use descriptions such as a Year 4 student with dyslexia rather than a student name.
